Who am I?
My name is Denis but all my friends call me Den's.
As far back as I can remember, I have always been attracted to photography, which I have been practising since I was young. After studying in the environmental field, I travelled to the four corners of the world during which I developed an increased sense of observation and the desire to share my vision of things.
In 2013, when the first drones appeared on the market, I decided to make a career out of it and set up my own aerial photography business for local authorities.
In 2017, I moved to Spain and it was during this period of confinement, surrounded by the flowers and cacti on my terrace, that I was inspired to explore the theme of flora and to offer high quality prints on the subject.
At the beginning of 2024, I moved back to France to devote myself fully to this project, which has been close to my heart for several years now.
What inspires me
I have always had a special bond with nature, it is for me a vital part of my daily life as well as an inexhaustible source of inspiration and this is why I wanted to develop a photographic project on the subject.
In view of the wide range of possibilities, I chose, in the first instance, to focus my work on the study of the cacti and succulents that I have been collecting for several years. I am fascinated by the multitude of forms proposed, the symmetries and asymmetries, the spectacular and unexpected blooms, their so particular metabolism which allows them to survive in hostile environments.
I then had the desire to work with flowers and to reveal, thanks to macrophotography, details invisible to the naked eye and to retranscribe as faithfully as possible their incredible beauty.
With a scientific background, I like to explore, discover and constantly deepen my knowledge of the subjects I photograph as well as the different shooting techniques.
What I propose
I created densfocus with the aim of exhibiting my work and offering as many people as possible High Definition photographs on the theme of plants that will find their place in your interior.
